Mix It Up! Classes @ JCCSF

 

Mix It Up! cooking classes welcome novices and foodies alike to cook with 12 Tribes’ chefs. Led by The Rabbi Chef, Becky Joseph, you will use all of your senses as you prep and cook flavorful recipes with fresh, natural ingredients. Whether it’s leavening bread, julienning zucchini, or chiffonading basil for a delicious pineapple salad, everyone leaves with new menu ideas, cooking tips, and friends. Of course, everyone eats well, too.

C’mon, treat yourself. Mix it Up! classes make great gifts for individuals, couples and friends, too!

The classes below meet in 12 Tribes’ kitchen at JCCSF, 3200 California St., San Francisco from 6:30-9:00 pm. Contact us to arrange a class at your location.

 

Strawberry Delight                                                                                                  Monday, June 18, 6:30 – 9:00 pm                                                                                                 Did you know that strawberries are the only fruit with seeds on the outside? Learn more about these flavorful, low-calorie members of the rose family and discover clever, unexpected ways to use them in your summer cooking. We’ll cover salads, condiments, beverages, and desserts… join us for a berry good time!

Farmer’s Market Basket Feast                                                                                         Monday, July, 8-9th, 6:30 – 9:00 pm                                                                                  A trip to one of San Francisco’s farmers’ markets offers a symphony of sound, flavor, and color. This class will show you how to fill your basket and get great value. Then, we’ll go into the kitchen learn some of the easiest and most tantalizing ways to turn your farmers’ market finds into a creative meal that everyone will love. Take advantage of the summer’s produce bonanza to make healthy, locally-sourced food that’s delicious, nutritious, and as fresh as it gets!

Prepare a spectacular, fulfilling meal that is just for you — no need to worry about what anyone else wants to eat! Join us as we explore how to make good food that’s great for one for a whole week without spending hours in the kitchen. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to eat beautifully, healthfully, and happily every day.

Light Meals for Hot Nights                                                                                       Thursday, August 28, 6:30 – 9:00 pm                                                                          ….Come learn how to make cool, simple food that keeps spirits high and temperatures low. We’ll focus on low-stress and quick dishes, like spiked watermelon gazpacho, wild salmon with green peas, shoots and orzo, and blueberry cobbler. San Francisco may not be known for sweltering summer weather, but you’ll be ready when the heat wave comes!
